AIRFARE TO CHARLOTTE

Charlotte is my pet.
She chose me a few months ago, and came at just the right time, when I was knee deep in fruit flies. Charlotte really took the reins on that one and I love her for it.

We've been through a lot together. Last month she disappeared for a night and came home knocked up. She laid her eggs and protected them like any good, coldblooded mother would. But I have a strick no breeding rule in my home, so I had to get rid of the poor little babies.
I don't think she was too bothered by the ordeal.
And last week I found a suitor not too far from her. I promptly moved him to another part of the house. No eggs yet.

She has been living quite happily in a corner of my bathroom, right by the tub.
But as sad as it is, I think I may have to say farewell to my lovely pet because, as you can see, I have developed a bit of a mold issue right behind her home.
Al, the maintenance man will be coming tomorrow. I don't have the heart to evict her, so I've asked Al to be kind and gentle.

Do you think he'll just flush her? Oh, maybe I should just shoo her away on my own.

These US Airways employees are about to tell me that now that I've missed my flight (due to the worst traffic i've ever seen on I-85 between Spartanburg and Charlotte) there's no way I'm going to be able to get to the conference on time.

That's just swell.

They think I'll be able to re-use the ticket for another flight at some point in the future. However, at this point, I have no idea if I just ate a few hundred dollars in airfare.

I'm almost certain I won't be able to get my money back from the hotel with which I made reservations.

This has never happened to me before.
